In the last few months i ve spent most of my time creating materials with substance designer. All materials presented here are sbsar format so you can use them in substance painter. Tried a new workflow for me this time started with generating base maps in materialize then editing further in substance painter and photoshop and finally blending some moss and adding some more details and adjustments in quixel mixer. Thatch is a very iconic old timey material so i knew i wanted to include it in my set from the very beginning.
We are not going to create a finished material because that would take hours but rather only look. I built it a lot like a real thatched roof first creating strands of straw before grouping them together into bundles and finally laying these bundles across the roof. In the scene one modular house with the ability to build different buildings and elements of the scene. Also in the scene are additional low poly models of grass soil bench.
